I was a geologist in the oil industry for 20 years before I became a counselor, a wife, and a stepmother of two daughters.
My experience enables me to offer effective, individualized, mental health care online and in-person. I specialize in counseling people who are dealing with trauma and grief that negatively impact their personal and work relationships. I help individuals (13+), couples, and families find ways to change old patterns and start new ones.
I help people heal past trauma and grief to become more connected and productive members of their families and communities. I achieve this by providing a safe place for you to be heard and customizing a treatment plan for your needs that involves activities from EMDR, Gottman Method, APSATS work, CBT, Gestalt, Mindfulness, Somatic work, etc.
I promise to be here with you as you work through past and present painful circumstances and to walk with you on your journey to a better future. My goal is to share as much knowledge, as many coping skills and new ways of relating, and as much insight as you need to get to the point where you don't really need me anymore.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience in our lives. They often build up over time and are worsened by personal and work stressors to the point of crisis. I was a client long before I was a counselor, and the stress of trying to find a reasonable work/life balance brought me to my first appointment. Working on my trauma, grief, and relationship issues kept me there for a while. You, too, can recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had or, just as amazingly, gain it for the first time.
People often experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic past circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger from these traumatic events. I can guide you in the process of grief, acceptance, and healing using EMDR, CBT, Gestalt, mindfulness, and person-centered therapies.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples and families who are looking to manage crisis, deal with changes, and strengthen their emotional connection in all stages of their relationships. I use the SYMBIS system for premarital counseling and the Gottman Method and Restoration Therapy for marital and family counseling.
